Bundanoon Guest House Reviews
Don't take our word for it. Here's what our guests think...
"From the moment you step foot in the vicinity, you will be greeted by a very welcoming host (Tim)! Checking in was a breeze and everything is very well prepared as you would expect. Then you are taken on a small tour, which really gives you a warm welcoming with fireplaces in most common rooms, perfectly decorated with a homely touch! All rooms are beautiful, extremely clean and I did not hear any noise during my 2 x nights stay. Dining in for dinner is a must atleast once during your stay. The variety on the menu was amazing and catered for everyone. Ask Tim for his advice on a dish pairing with a beer or lovely wine! (That curry + beer recommendation was tops!) Prompt light breakfast sets you up for your activities during the day. Full 5 stars for Location, Service and Cleanliness. Thanks to Tim, Lucie + team for being a great host. Looking forward to coming back!! Cheers Dexter"
Super obliging and a wonderful stay. -
"Tim & Lucie are the most wonderful hosts and the Lodge itself is beautiful, relaxing and welcoming.
We have stayed before and were looking forward to a return with friends. Unfortunately, we had a very late stumble at home just before the weekend we were booked and looked like we wouldn't be able to get there. Tim was awesome, nothing too much trouble even though we were leaving them with an empty room on a busy weekend. We were able to postpone the booking till a few weeks later.
Then we threw a spanner in and decided we could go for a single night on the original booked weekend. - That too was no problem for our marvelous hosts - all sorted with a warm attitude.
Once we arrived, we were greeted like old friends and shown to our lovely room with lots of concern and empathy.
We enjoyed drinks in front of the fire and dinner in town with our friends. Next morning breakfast was also up to the standard mentioned by others. We didn't feel rushed at any time and are now looking forward to the next overnighter we have arranged in a few weeks time for our anniversary.
Thanks again Tim & Lucie."

"This Guest House is doing everything right - warm and friendly hosts; comfortable rooms; plenty of sitting and gathering spaces; quirky antiques and decorations throughout; delicious breakfasts, restaurant meals and a bar; a full sized pool table and big-screen internet TV in the games room; attractive gardens; and more. This is the best Guest House we've experienced, so congratulations to Tim and Lucie for making our world a better place. In a nutshell, The Bundanoon Guest House is the opposite of Fawlty Towers!"

"Liked · Breakfasts were excellent. we liked the location & the village. will reccommend to family & friends. Lucy & Tim were the perfect hosts. We hope to stay there again."
I booked out the Bundanoon Guesthouse to celebrate a 50th Birthday in June 2022. Hosts Lucie and Tim managed my diverse, 30-strong crowd beautifully and there was an easy, cosy charm to the whole weekend. The head chef Ion is a star: he arranged a superb afternoon of gourmet cooking classes for my guests; and the results were sublime – and hysterical. In fact, everything fell into place: welcome drinks, casual dinner on the first night, long breakfasts and a very smart formal dinner on the Saturday. Tim and Lucie have created something very special in Bundanoon, and the guest house alone is a reason to go there.

Bundanoon Guest House: our special place.
After many Southern Highlands holidays, several years ago my bridge friends and I discovered Bundanoon Guest House. Since then we have enjoyed having our annual mid-week winter holiday with Lucie and Tim Phillips. They are the most generous and thoughtful hosts one could ever hope for. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Their warm, cosy rooms, healthy, delicious meals with fine wines on hand, intriguing heritage garden to explore and proximity to the zany Bundanoon village all combine to give us a blissful, eagerly anticipated place to relax and catch up with each other away from the busyness of Sydney life; playing bridge and frivolous partying are also essential ingredients of the mix. That’s why the Bundanoon Guest House is now our holiday house and a diary fixture from year to year.
PS: Do yourself a favour and try Lucie’s jams and marmalade and spend time at the bar with Tim to hear his views on the best Australian and NZ wines!
